WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE: SOLITARY
THE SIMPLE LIFE
This photo was taken on a trip to the Amish country in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.  Although  the Amish are normally camera-shy, I was given permission by the owner of the farm we visited to capture this photo.  I came upon the scene while waiting to take one of their buggy rides.

Some in the Amish community are more tolerant than others. I was fortunate to be able to photograph this.

Instead of feeling sorry for them because they do not use technology, etc, I think we should be envious of them. I am sure they live a more peaceful life than we do out in the world.

Great photo! My impression of the Amish is that they are all so content. I wonder if that is truly so….

I have visited them a number of times and they are very content with their lifestyle.

Beautiful – you’ve captured the essence of this week’s assignment. I am fascinated by the Amish way of life too. Simple life yet they seem to be very happy and content.

It is in have a simple life that we easily find peace and happiness. People have clouded themselves with to much material trappings that we forgot the real secrets that makes us whole and complete. Beautiful post my friend.
