Seeing Life Through Photography

The USS 325 LST (Landing Ship Tank) docked on the North Shore in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania during the beginning of September, 2010.  This ship landed troops at Normandy on D-Day June 6, 1944.  The largest ship ever designed/built to place tanks, troops, and cargo onto a hostile beach, and then retracts off – 1,051 were built for WWII – 70% were built on the Ohio and Illinois Rivers. They were considered “The ship that won the war.”   The USS 325 is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
