A-Z ARCHIVE: W CHALLENGE

The A-Z ARCHIVE : W CHALLENGE is sponsored by FrizzText.  In appreciation of his sponsorship I have chosen to post  pictures of the stained glass windows in The German Nationality Room located in The Cathedral of Learning, on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh, in his honor.

The stained-glass windows contain colorful scenes and quotations from the world-famous fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm.  Here children of all heritages excitedly identify Hansel and Gretel approaching the gingerbread house.  Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White surrounded by the Seven Dwarfs, and Cinderella with her Prince Charming.  I hope you enjoy this presentation.

  1. How wonderful! I certainly hope stained glass never becomes a “lost art.” Seeing sunlight stream though a stained glass window is a real thing of beauty.

  2. Beautiful windows. Great choice for the challenge! 🙂

  3. I hope not only Germans like those wonderful stained glass WINDOWS – of course in Germany we have many in our castles and cathedrals! Sorry to notice, that vandalism (they threw stones through the windows in my hometown church) does not have respect even finding those artworks …

    • All the children and adults love the stained-glass windows. They bring school children in to view them and tell the stories behind the windows. These Nationality Rooms are great tourist attractions and are visited by people from all over the world.
