Francine In Retirement
Seeing Life Through Photography

I’m feeling the love from an awesome blogging community.  WordPress is featuring “Friendships” this week and I felt it was a perfect time to sit down and respond to the wonderful award nominations I have received over the past weeks.

I have been privileged to become acquainted with a world of people I have never personally met but whom I call friends.  You have thrilled me with your photos, informed me with your writings and experiences, excited my palate with your recipes, brought me joy with your successes and tears as I mourn with you through your loses.

I may not be able to award each of you with an award but I do make a commitment to read, like or comment on each blog notice that comes across my eyesight from you.  I only recently discovered the word press reader and realized I missed some of your post.  I have been responding to emails only.  That has been corrected.

Now for the awards I received, the friends who nominated me, rules and the passing on.

I was nominated for the Beautiful Blogger Award by Faith at  Faithrises , a place for readers to be encouraged and motivated, through stories, quotes, and biblical examples.   The Beautiful Blogger Award is given for creativity, originality, and contribution to the blogging community.

The Guidelines:

  • List seven random facts about yourself
  • Post a link to the blog of the person who nominated you
  • Link to seven other bloggers who are deserving of the award
  • Let those bloggers know that you’ve nominated them

Mrs. Sparkly’s Ten Commandments Award came by way of Terry   “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.” (2 Cor. 4:7)

The rules for this award are that you must answer the following ten questions and nominate ten blogs that you think deserve the award.

1.   Describe yourself in seven words.

Mother, Grandmother, Retired, Compassionate, Love the Lord, Happy, Blessed

2.   What keeps you up at night?

       A good movie sometimes

3.   Whom would you like to be

       A better me

4.   What are you wearing now

        Jeans and T-shirt

5.   What scares you

       The violence in the world

6.   What are the best and worst things about blogging

The freedom to express myself through photography, haven’t found anything yet

7.    What was the last website you looked at

8.    If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be

       My weight

9.    Slankets, yes or no

I found that a slanket is a blanket with arms, so yes I was given a couple of them

10.   Tell us something about the person who nominated you

Loves the Lord, compassionate, a writer, committed, encourager

The Illuminating Blogger Award was given to me by Dare to Dream  Deb is a writer with dreams she dears to dream in a world where she has limited mobility.  In her amazing blog she speaks about faith, courage, joy, laughter and the strength and courage to carry on regardless of any situation she may find herself in.  If you desire to be inspired and encouraged, check out her blog.

As part of the award you must leave a comment on the original award site which is here:  and be sure to mention who nominated you! You need to choose a random fact about yourself to share and choose 5 bloggers to pass the torch to.

This Sunshine Blogger Award was passed onto me by A Star On The Forehead  New to the blogging community Star loves to write and share the many thoughts she has experienced through life’s journey.  She hopes to inspire and be inspired.  Stop by her blog for an exchange of thoughts and ideas.

1.  Repost the award in a post that includes the blog of the person that nominated you.

2.  State 10 things about yourself.

3.  Nominate 10 people.

A little bit more about me.

I retired from the business work force over five years ago.  I worked in the international accounting field for a fortune 500 company.  Although somewhat shy when I first meet someone, I love people and inter-acting with them.  I believe I have a sensitive and compassionate nature and sometimes have a problem  saying no.  I have worked and trained in many areas of ministry for over forty years.  I enjoy photography, sewing, music and making flower arrangements.  I dislike injustice, selfishness, and mistreatment of others.

I am very appreciative towards everyone in the blogging community for your support and encouragement given to this site.  Although it is a lot of work to put together this post, it gives me an opportunity to thank you and acknowledge your great blogs.  So if you choose to, please accept these awards and post them on your web sites and pass them on.  There is no time limit in responding and creativity in responding is encouraged.  PLEASE ENJOY WITHOUT STRESS.
