SUNDAY POST: FAMOUS MOVIES

Jakesprinter’s SUNDAY POST: Famous Movies is this weeks challenge.  Here is my entry taken from my recent trip to New York City.  You can’t visit The Big Apple without seeing a Broadway show.  I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Sister Act The Musical, starring Raven-Symone.  See a sneak preview under Sister Act on Broadway link below.  Also view other entries on challenge at link above.

Sister Act is a 1992 American comedy film released by Touchstone Pictures. Directed by Emile Ardolino, it features musical arrangements byMarc Shaiman and stars Whoopi Goldberg as a Reno lounge singer who has been put under protective custody in a San Francisco convent and has to pretend to be a nun when a mob boss puts her on his hit list.

Sister Act on Broadway  SISTER ACT is Broadway’s feel-amazing musical comedy smash! The New York Post calls it “RIDICULOUSLY FUN,” and audiences are jumping to their feet in total agreement! Featuring original music by 8-time Oscar®winner ALAN MENKEN (Beauty and the Beast,The Little MermaidLittle Shop of Horrors),SISTER ACT tells the story of Deloris Van Cartier, a wannabe diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a crime and the cops hide her in the last place anyone would think to look—a convent! Under the suspicious watch of Mother Superior, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own. A sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship,SISTER ACT is reason to REJOICE!

There are a lot of plays on Broadway that started in the movie theaters.  Below are photos I took of some of their billboards.

BE ENCOURAGED!  BE BLESSED!
