Francine In Retirement
Seeing Life Through Photography

My grandson loves everything Polo.  Of course we shop at the outlet store for his purchases, when they have items that are on sale of the already marked down price.  Then we can get great value for a reduced price.

When he discovered his mother and I were going to NYC, he insisted that we go to the Polo Mansion also known as the Rhinelander Mansion, to get him, what he thought would be a small item, a toothbrush. (ha ha ha)  We went to the store to let him see that there were somethings too valuable for his allowance and the money he earned from a small job.  We wanted to teach him the value of money and the benefit of saving for the things he wants.  Needless to say, they did not carry toothbrushes.

If you want value in a product tailored just for you and money is no object then The Ralph Lauren (Polo Mansion) is the place you want to shop.  I hope you enjoyed seeing the photos I took of this amazing place.

  1. Oh my, that does look like a very expensive emporium, Francine. Your grandson is so cute. 😉 I see no reason why they shouldn’t do a designer toothbrush for “the man who has everything.” 😉

    • He heard that a rock star he likes had one so of course he wanted one. The thing is, polo doesn’t carry such an item. We think it was some kind of one time promotion item.

  2. I have been to a couple of beautifully designed flagship Polo stores in iconic buildings…just to ogle of course 🙂

  3. Although your Grandson may not have liked the outcome, he was taught a valuable lesson about saving for things that matter. Who knows? By the time he has enough money put away, he may realize that a Polo toothbrush isn’t so desirable after all.

  4. Dripping opulence that is so good to visit. Did you get a toothbrush somewhere else?

  5. Your right Francine the most Precious moment are with family and friends, Great work i love all your stunning photographs 🙂

  6. I love that mansion and the shot. Great job! 😉

  7. It looks so rich with the heavy wood and minimalistic display. Great photos Francine. 🙂

  8. Polo…a valuable brand name to many but your final words spending precious moments with family and friends … the most rewarding and valuable commodity we should hold on to. 🙂 Thanks!

  9. this is a lovely post in which you reminds us in your final sentence of the value of the thing that really matters .

  10. what a wonderful place Francine…you could wander for hours in that place

  11. Love the stunning buildings. Amazing architectural details. Very artistic. I appreciate how you value money and hardwork and trying to teach your son about it. I’m also trying to teach my son that money does not grow on trees everytime he asks for toys. As for Polo stuff. They look cool though. Great post. Have a wonderful day my friend….
