Francine In Retirement
Seeing Life Through Photography

A few days from now our Nation will celebrate the birth of our country on the 4th of July.   Helping to recognize this historical occasion at the Three Rivers Regatta a sand sculpture out of 160 tons of sand depicting the Founding Fathers gathered in Independence Hall in Philadelphia to sign the Declaration of Independence.  The scene was modeled after paintings by John Trumbull and Howard Chandler Christy.

The sculpture — featuring Ben Franklin, George Washington, John Adams and many other Founding Fathers witnessing Hancock sign the Declaration is found at Point State Park in downtown Pittsburgh.

Ms. Jill Harris and three other sculptors are responsible for the sculpture.  Ms. Harris is the President and founder of  Sandsational Sand Sculpting.
