THE CHAPEL OF THE HOLY CROSS
CHURCH BUILD UPON A ROCK
My visit to Sedona would not have been complete without a visit to the Chapel of the Holy Cross. One of the most visited spots in Sedona. The architecture alone is worth the visit. Rising 200 feet from the ground, it rests amongst the red rocks.
Marguerite Brunswig Staude, who was a student of Frank Lloyd Wright, not only paid for this chapel to be built but she also designed it after being inspired in 1932 by “watching the newly completed Empire State Building. She thought that when viewed from a certain angle a cross seemed to impose itself through the very core of the structure”, but it would not be completed until 1957.
The views from the Chapel are just amazing and you can feel the forgiving energy as soon as you arrive.
The message of the Chapel “That the Church may come to life in the souls of men and be a living reality.”
“May this chapel spread these same truths a thousandfold
… finding Christ through art.”

I hope you will get a feeling for the place while watching the video I made from the photos I took there.
