APPLE CORE
In July of last year I visited Kentuck Knob, one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s homes in Pennsylvania.
Kentuck Knob is also known for its Sculpture Garden or Sculpture Meadow. Here is one of those sculptures.
Sculptor: Claes Oldenburg
Title: Apple Core
Year: 1990
Materials: Stainless Steel, Urethane Foam, and Urethane Hardcoat

(Laughing) If it is half the size of this apple core, you would not be seeing this picture. I would be out of there. (smile)

Reminds me of a Donald Duck Episode: “Applecore! Who’s your friend?” After which the core is tossed, thrown, rather, at the friend.

Well, you got me, Francine. I saw the title of your post in my Inbox and didn’t expect to see anything so literal. 🙂

I have a hard time thinking of this as art. Oh well, different stroke for different folk.
