Francine In Retirement
Seeing Life Through Photography

When I think of squares and angles my mine returns to the wonderful time my daughter and I spent in Times Square during our trip to New York City last summer.

By day it was a wonderful experience of eating and shopping, but by night the city came alive with the bright lights, music, some unusual people and amazing sights.

Times Square, the most bustling square of New York is known for its many Broadway theatres, cinemas and electronic billboards.  It is one of those places that make New York a city that never sleeps.

See some of it in the scenes in the below slideshow.

Many people come to Times Square for the ambiance and the billboards spectacle, but there are also many restaurants and shops – well over 100 – in the area including some crowd-pullers such as the Disney Store and a large Toys”R”Us. But Times Square is best known for its entertainment, and plenty of visitors come here to attend a Broadway show. Times Square is also home to MTV’s headquarters and ABC’s ‘Good Morning America’ is broadcast in front of a live audience from its office at 44th and Broadway.

  1. Haha if I bumped into the Naked Cowboy I wouldn’t know where to look!

  2. THere certainly is no place like New York, Francine, and you captured TImes Square quite nicely. Could almost hear the taxis horns blaring. 🙂

  3. Now that I’m a senior, the bus from the Lehigh Valley to NYC is only $11 each way. With this awesome price, I’m hoping to visit the city more often, just for the day, and begin to explore the neighborhoods, one by one.

  4. I hear so much about this place and hope to one day visit it. In the meantime, I enjoyed looking at what you had captured.

    • Oh Colline, I found NYC such a wonderful place to visit. You can get tickets to broadway shows for half price the day of and there is something for everyone. Your children will enjoy the M&M store.

  5. This country boy doesn’t know how he would handle the big city. I think I would feel claustrophobic and full of anxiety. Thanks for the view into that strange world without me having to go there!

  6. Wonderful choices for this week’s challenge. Thanks so much for participating!

  7. Fab shots Francine. Have never been to New York either, and your slideshow makes me want to get on the next flight there 🙂
