Francine In Retirement
Seeing Life Through Photography

There are many definitions for community.  The community of bloggers, for me, is an unexpectedly diverse and unified body of individuals who help ensure that life is surprising and delightful. This body includes personally trusted others and also kind and trusting/trusted strangers.

I want to show my support and appreciation for this community by listing, over a period of time, some special blogs I read.

Every Thursday, I will publish a list of blogs that I enjoy.  They have been a great source of encouragement, inspiration and information. This is not an award, but a “SHOUT OUT” to them.  I hope you will check out these wonderful blogs.  I am sure you will be blessed by them.

If you don’t see your blog listed, the time will come when it will be.

It’s a blog where you can learn a little about Midwestern culture and life and more. He has been photographing images for as long as he can remember.  Everything he has learned about photography has been through trial and error…and a lot of reading. He believe that he can become a better photographer by getting constructive critiques from other photographers.

Michael loves mornings, chocolates and pastries with all his being. He could eat a steak all day everyday. He adores the sand and the sea. He love to travel and meet great people, eat new food, be awed by the places he has never seen. Traveling gives him the feeling of vulnerability, openness and energy. He loves planning travel itineraries.  He thinks he is a good cook. If he had the time, he would study cooking, be a chef and put up his own restaurant. He loves to read a lot of articles and blogs, to learn random things about the world we live in, to hear other people’s opinions, experiences and stories…

Stephen Kelly is a writer, editor, photographer and graphic designer living in San Francisco, CA, USA. Amongst the things he loves are writing, photography, movies, music, fitness, travel, Batman, all things Australian, food and fun, all of which he hopes to reflect in the pages of his blog. He loves to laugh, and to make people laugh.

Her mission is to ENCOURAGE, MOTIVATE, INSPIRE AND EDUCATE people to live more fulfilling lives, one baby step at a time. She encourages to make one change, no matter how small, and build on it.

Her passion is to remind you of things you already know. Create those “Wow, I never thought of that!” moments. Create those “I really needed to hear that today!” moments. Provide you will inspirational stories about real people who have overcome difficult struggles. Instill hope in those that have become hopeless. Empower those who feel powerless. And provide tools, techniques, skills, and resources for those that want to move their lives in a different direction.

It is her hope to inspire those that live close as well as those that live half a world away.

Through these photos, he hopes to share a slice of the beauty of life — of all life — be it rural, urban, natural, animal, or otherwise.

Mimi was a personal chef for eight years and she catered for ten after that. She was a food writer, had a weekly newspaper column, taught cooking classes, worked as a recipe developer, was a health advocate promoting feeding children healthy food (way ahead of my time), had a cooking show (not so good at that), and even wrote a cookbook. So you can see that much of her life has focused on food and cooking.

Suzanne has been involved with photography for 20 years. I have dabbled in
landscape, architectural, portraiture and wildlife and nature photography.

She is a first time author. Her book is titled, “My Mother Can Do Anything!”.
This is the story of a three-legged deer who visited her property for eight years.
She captured images of her with twins, triplets, and singles over the years, and the
story just wrote itself.

Imelda, a SAHM of four boys.  She enjoys being at home and caring for her family, but she feels she needs an outlet to let go of her frustrations or to encourage her  interests or just to meet people.  She find the last one a bit of a challenge given her circumstances  because her family and her little home is practically her world.  She has limited opportunity to interact with others outside of her home.  Hence, her blog will be her daily dose of adult conversation.   For now, it will be about two interests that she wants to grow in:  writing and photography.

A photography blog with a difference: Instead of a strict focus on photo how-to, gear and the like, He will pass on knowledge about the places and people pictured. That means tips and recommendations from an experienced adventure traveler. It also means learning about the geology, nature, wildlife and cultural history of the photo destinations, all from a long-time teacher & earth scientist. And since he is a working photographer as well, he’ll pass on ways you can successfully capture the atmosphere of a place or the essence of a person or animal. But you won’t find an endless blow-by-blow on how I got each shot, nor cheerleading gear talk either.

Linda has always loved writing. Born in the South, with a big imagination and lots of passion for Life to come, She remembers being told that she was “too emotional”. Yet looking back, she never could have achieved or aspired as she did if she hadn’t been passionate. She just learned to pour it into meaning and contribution and sharing! Now Retired from an unexpected life, full of discovery, wonder, adventures and humbling life lessons.

Life, she found was in the unexpected turns and moments that are never planned or foreseen. We encounter ourselves, and if truthful, we encounter God. This she found to be the purpose behind all. God, she sees in all Life, breathing through you and her. This unity, that we are is something that she feels deeply.
