SALUTE TO BLOGGERS VII
I want to show my support and appreciation for this community of bloggers by listing, over a period of time, some special blogs I read.
Every Thursday, I will publish a list of blogs that I enjoy. They have been a great source of encouragement, inspiration and information. This is not an award, but a “SHOUT OUT” to them. I hope you will check out these wonderful blogs. I am sure you will be blessed by them.
If you don’t see your blog listed, the time will come when it will be.
They decided to name the blog “Wind Against Current” because they are both fascinated by the effect of opposing forces. When you’re paddling, having the wind and current in opposition often creates what kayakers euphemistically call “interesting” conditions. In particular, if you’re paddling with the current and against the wind (one of Johna’s favorite scenarios) you may experience surprisingly large waves.
So they decided to create a space in which they could explore, with friends, the many ways in which opposing forces shape our world. View their blog and be swept away in their adventures.
FROM KOREA WITH LOVE
Once upon a time, there was a wistful young woman who, like any other girls, wanted to be rescued from the “castle of loneliness” by a daring handsome prince… and so she waited like forever in her own Cinderella world… the four corners of the bedroom being her own cozy fireplace where she’d spend the wee hours of the night dreaming of the day her prince would come. Finally, he came… a prince from another kingdom, or should I say from another country not faraway, whose culture and lifestyle are entirely different from hers. From being the dreamy young woman that she was, she has become the queen of the household and a novice in a foreign land.
This is the tale of an ordinary Filipina named Chris and an ordinary Korean called Khan who met a couple of years ago, became friends, fell in love, parted ways, were brought back together by fate, got married (Thrice!), and are now living the day-to-day adventures of being a Filipina wife to a Korean husband and being a Korean husband to a Filipina wife.
Umesh Sharma. Loves traveling. He wishes to see every beautiful part of the earth. His dream land is Antarctica and he wishes to visit it one day in his life. He loves nature and wilderness. Till now he has traveled more than 30 states in US and 5 countries in Europe. He loves going on Road Trips and as of now he have traveled more than twenty thousands miles in the US. His favorite place in the US is Alaska and if he gets a chance he will take on a road trip to Dalton Highway in Alaska.
He is learning a little bit of photography and he would love to get feedback and suggestions on his photos from fellow bloggers.
A photographer by passion and a Banker by profession. Regionally from U A E ( Dubai ) right now, and by origin is from India. Started clicking pictures out of an intuition, and the reason for that is still wondering me. Would like to click realistic and candid images without any manipulations, as i strongly believe photography is a process of recording the moment for the future, and as a photographer you are committed to present the pictures without any scrambling.
I am Coreen , a wife, mother, care taker and a Photographer. I live in Kraaifontein, Cape Town with my husband of 17 years and my two boys age 10 and 12.
She did not have any formal photography education. Our Heavenly Father gave her a talent and she thanks Him every day for giving her the opportunity to make other people happy. She knew that her talent alone will not help her go forward so she started reading up allot on photography. With each shoot she goes and refresh her memory and she also looks for ideas in magazines, other photographers websites. But the most important tip that she has to give any upcoming self-made photographer is practice, practice and practice.
She loves and enjoy her work and she puts her heart and soul into each photo. When she does a photo shoot she tries to capture the different personalities of the members of the family. Her aim is for you to enjoy your photo shoot.
Her aim with this blog is to show off some of her work and tell you about the photo sessions. She would also like to leave some tips for those of you that have not yet have the opportunity to go for a photo shoot.
It is a space for a photo a day usually linked to Project 365. Originally, She uses a Posterous account but sadly they have now gone so she have moved to this wonderful blog.
She has an iPhone and iPad which have enabled her to ‘play’ at being a photographer. Sometimes the apps run away with her but she is having fun and she hopes you will enjoy your time here.
If you can, leave her a comment on her efforts. It always helps to know what your audience thinks.
She is South-African born and bred, but has always had a “bee in her bonnet” for travelling and seeing the world. She loves exploring and travelling around the world and have decided that it is time that she shares her travel stories and pictures so that you can see why she loves it so much. She has been travelling and working her way around the world for the last 10 years and had some amazing experiences along the way. When you live in a country you get to experience it from a different view than that of the ordinary tourist, she thinks it’s the people and crazy everyday things happening that keep it interesting. Her camera usually accompanies her everywhere she goes so she will definitely be posting photos along with her travel stories. I will start with her adventures and experiences in Russia as she currently lives in Moscow and will slowly work through the highlights of the last ten years abroad.
The Internet brought together: a Danish organ player (Lars) and a Belgian language teacher (Ingrid). They share the same passions: good food, (contemporary) art, classical music, movies, books, photography and … traveling.
There blog is about: those places that are hardly mentioned in the guidebooks. Or not at all. They do go to popular destinations sometimes, but then again they try to go to where the crowds don’t go. But they have to admit that the Eiffel Tower is pretty awesome as well!
It’s their goal to show you that beauty can be everywhere. They like being on the road, taking it easy, discovering new destinations, admiring landscapes, visiting museums and tasting the local cuisine. Almost every day, they post about their trips and excursions, travel preparations, their UNESCO project and hotel reviews. Join them on their car trips to off the beaten track destinations!
Before Lars and Ingrid met, they traveled outside Europe as well. These destinations will be featured here regularly as well.

“The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.” – Saint Augustine.
She picked part of the quote for her web blog title since she enjoys both traveling and books. Initially, she wanted to use blog to keep her travel journal and to share photos with her friends and colleagues. When she ran into a couple of blogs, she began blogging and reading posts regularly. It has been a wonderful learning and sharing experience.
