Francine In Retirement
Seeing Life Through Photography

I want to show my support and appreciation for this community of bloggers by listing, over a period of time, some special blogs I read.

Every Thursday, I will publish a list of blogs that I enjoy.  They have been a great source of encouragement, inspiration and information. This is not an award, but a “SHOUT OUT” to them.  I hope you will check out these wonderful blogs.  I am sure you will be blessed by them.

If you don’t see your blog listed, the time will come when it will be.

Cedric has been blogging for a year. He states he never thought he would go this far with posts and stories. He has put all his enthusiasm in it without knowing what would be the outcome and states to be very honest, you, my visitor, frequent, random and follower are the one that keep me going.

About a year ago, he got hooked on taking pictures with a friend’s camera. He takes photos by instinct, he can’t say if they are good or not and that is not the purpose. The purpose is to have a good time during the process.

The name of my blog is a nickname friends gave me. “Implicado” stands for involved. Involved with life and all that has to do with it.

He welcomes you and hope you enjoy the times you stop by.

Besides other things, I’ve been doing street photography since 1988 and I’m currently based in Prague, Czech Republic, where I organize also my street photography workshops.

This blog is both a showcase of (some of) my finished work and a place where you may find my experimental stuff.  I rarely post-process my street photographs, so mostly they are straight out of my cameras.

Images of street art are not for sale, as I don’t even think about making a profit from pictures of artworks created by fellow artists. I post photos of street art just to help promote the artists and their amazing form of expression.

Paula loves life, and treasures it each day, because she has come so very close to losing it, more times than she can count! That’s not to say that she don’t get grumpy.  She strives to improve in all aspects of her life. Some days she is more successful than others, in much the same way as her blog says, “some days are cloudier than others.” She lives and loves by the Grace of God. Her wish, her prayer for everyone is enough.

This blog is written by Kateřina Janoušková, an independent certified Prague / Czech republic / Europe Tour guide.

She really love Prague, she often enjoy it just by herself or with her family, walking in the hidden streets as well as visiting well-known places, drinking all the tastes of Prague during her walks, and it makes her really happy to show this place to other people, to share the knowledge, atmosphere, beauty. You are very welcomed to join her.

However, not only Prague is the place that is worth seeing in her country, there are so many of them, on one hand the most known places registered in UNESCO heritage (Kutná Hora, Telč, Olomouc, Litomyšl, Třebíč, etc…), but also other cities with fresh and living esprit.

She is all about taking life as it comes, with challenges, happiness, woes and gaining experience from it. Life is a like a school, learning never stops.

This blog, “Another Red Letter Day,” will focus predominately on the red letters – Jesus’ own words – and hopefully encourage and challenge the reading community to move closer to Him, and conform more fully to His likeness. We are transformed by the renewing of our minds, so unlocking these words of Jesus can only result in our conforming to His likeness, line by line, precept by precept.

Lisa   This blog is about sorting through years of depression and sorrow while trying to find her spirit within

She lives on a farm in South Africa.

She has three sons and two grandsons. She shares her home with a husband and youngest son, their Congo African Grey Parrot Georgie, 5 female Dogs , 1 neutered Cat by the name of Lola (they got his sex wrong!!), cattle, sheep, geese, chickens, ducks, lots of wildlife.  She loves her family, friends, crafts, photography, Bible, Nature,  chocolate, the internet, etc.

She lives to Craft! She hopes you enjoy what’s on offer.

Her name is Julie and she live on a retired dairy farm in Western Australia with a lovely husband and a 99.9% lovely, teenage son. Until recently, she was a lecturer in English and Creative Writing at the local university, but her main job now is to care for her husband who has cancer and Parkinson’s disease.  As a way of brightening their lives up, they started accumulating a few birds, and other creatures, so this blog is about what has turned out to be a fantastic, often hilarious, sometimes poignant, adventure.

He used to enjoy photography when he was sighted, taking and developing photos in his Dad’s darkroom, When he lost most his sight 13 years ago he thought this would put a stop to his hobby but he has learned that his camera can act as his eyes allowing him to see what his own eyes will not.

He is proud of the fact that he has been able to produce photographs despite his visual impairment– and like to think that although he may have lost his useful sight he has not lost his vision and instinct for a good photograph. (see Blind Photographer)

His hope is that his short testimony will help those who feel lost in despair and no longer want to choose life. He knows that there really is HOPE and God has a plan for your life as he has for mine. He simply wants to love you and welcome you home.

Ailsa, has lived in many places, and travelled to many more. She had a lot of fun getting there and being there, wherever there happened to be at the time. She climbed a castle wall in Czesky Krumlov, abseiled down cliffs to go caving in the west of Ireland, slept on the beach in Paros, got chased by a swarm of bees in Vourvourou (ok that wasn’t fun, but it was exciting), learned flower arranging in Tokyo, found herself in the middle of a riot in Seoul, learned to snowboard in Salzburg, got lost in a labyrinth in Budapest and had her ice cream stolen by a gull in Cornwall. And she is just getting started. If you’ve enjoyed what you’ve read so far, she would love you to follow her travelogue Remember, anyone who tries to tell you it’s a small world hasn’t tried to see it all.
