THE LILY FAMILY

The Liliaceae (Lilyfamily, are a family of monocotyledon perennial, herbaceous geophytes, often bulbous flowering plants within the order Liliales, consisting of fifteen genera and approximately 600 species.

A large family of plants, the Liliaceae, characterized by showy flowers with six perianth segments, six stamens, and a superior ovary and usually producing bulbs or rhizomes.
