Francine In Retirement
Seeing Life Through Photography

Photographers, artists, poets: show us FAD.

What seems to be the trend these days are tattoos, and multicolored hair.

Changing up your hairstyle is a great way to express yourself and the examples of multicolored hair might be just what you need to delve into the world of statement hair. Some people add color all over their heads, while others add colored streaks.

It seems like everyone has a tattoo these days. Once sported only by sailors, outlaws, and biker gangs, tattoos are now popular body decorations for many people. And it’s not just anchors, skulls, and battleships anymore — from school emblems to Celtic designs to personalized symbols, people have found many ways to express themselves with their tattoos.

Here are a few I spotted in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

This post was inspired by The Daily Prompt.

  2. we have a lady in our small town who has multi-coloured hair…and really shouldn’t

  3. Why do I get the feeling that tatoos are soon to become ‘the latest’ thing that folks have to have? the art is amazing and unique in each one 😀

  4. Tattoos are really fascinating to see, but definitely not for me. 🙂

  5. Francine this is not about your post, although your photos are excellent. I just read about how you make flower arrangements and give them to those whose lives will be brightened. You warm my heart.

  7. loved those tattoos 🙂

  8. Hair colours are fun and temporary but tattoos – unless they are discreet, I find them horrid, works of art at times but still horrid!

  9. I flirted with the idea of getting a tattoo when I turned 60 …. almost. Just a little one commemorated the milestone. Didn’t do it, and now, years later, I’m very very VERY glad I didn’t.

  10. The first one is colorful and fun, the second one horrifies me…

  11. hi Francine,
    “statement hair”
    = an interesting term!

  12. hi Francine,
for sure you can use these 3 pictures for the current weekly photo challenge!
    greetings by

  13. do you know the mosaic maker at bighugelabs?

  14. It’s astonishing to me when people – mostly men – get tattoos on their head. I can’t even imagine how painful that might be. You capture them perfectly.
    Nice post !!!

  15. The owl tattoo on the mans head is incredible!!

  16. i don’t have a problem with tattoos, Francine, though I don’t understand the need to have your body covered in them or, for example, on your head. Our God-given skin is beautiful and doesn’t need that much adornment.
